Step 7: Create and start application load balancer

  1. Go to Load Balancing service

  2. Click Add new Application Load Balancer

  3. Set the Host server as ALB (this is a name of the server we onboarded in step 2)

  4. Make sure to select both applications in Application Endpoints section

  5. Click Save Load Balancer

After the initial sync of the load balancer status, ClusterWare will indicate that the Site is disabled with a red arrow

  1. Click Restart Load Balancer

  2. Provide Root password

  3. Click OK

Once the Load Balancer restart is complete the password will be discarded from ClusterWare.

If you’re performing a lot of administrative tasks on the server you can choose to remember the password locally in your browser. It will be discarded when you close the browser tab.

When ClusterWare finishes restarting the Load Balancer, it will indicate that the Site is enabled with a green arrow.

  1. Click on the load balancer URL link

  1. Validate that the load balancer distributes the traffic between all 4 application instances running on different ports

Congratulations! 👏 You have created your first cluster with ClusterWare!
